FLESH STRIVES TO NO AVAIL, BUT GOD MOVES AND IT SO.
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;"
- Isaiah 61:1
What is deliverance?
- The freeing of one in bondage by the power of God. In the Word it is known to be the Kingdom of God coming upon someone. Whenever someone was healed or delivered, and most of the time both at the same time, it was known as the Kingdom coming upon them. And for the Kingdom to come upon someone who is demonically oppressed or possessed, is the uprooting, tearing down and eviction of foreign invaders in the body.
Difference between oppression and possession
- Oppression is interchangeable with demonization. Christians can be demonized. It doesn't mean they are filled with demons, but in some way are influenced by an unclean spirit. They are influenced but are in control of their body and mind. As a 'Christian' we have received the Holy Ghost, giving spirits no opportunity to literally possess us, but they can still oppress if we're living in sin.
- Possession is when a spirit gains full control of someone. The spirit takes complete control of the persons body, and it infiltrates in a way that the body adapts the personality, voice and actions of that spirit.
What is discernment?
-A distinguishing, judging between what is of God and not of Him. Given by the Holy Ghost, it is done in Spirit and not in flesh, to look past what someone says or shows, to see them for who they really are.
When Jesus was first anointed and filled with the Holy Ghost, His first assignment was to be led by the Holy Ghost to be tempted and tried. Notice Jesus didn't fast until He was filled with the Holy Ghost, and when He did, He was in the wilderness. Fasting is not a way for you to indirectly or directly manipulate God into getting what you want. Fasting is a way of killing your flesh, that the Holy Ghost may rule in your body. Fasting if done as led by the Spirit and with the right intentions, kill the flesh so that our minds can be renewed in the Word, and we depend more on the Holy Ghost. As flesh is being put to death and the Spirit is given control, our faith increases and our relationship is strengthened so now God can move easier within us.
Jesus crucified His flesh even before He began working in the harvest. The same needs to be with His Church. This is why He pleased God and was found without sin, being completely blameless, because even before He went on the cross, His flesh was already under subjection to the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost ruled Him, and led Him in all things. Yes, He was a man still. He still cried, got angry, was hungry, thirsty, prayed, etc. but He was still led by God and found BLAMELESS and HOLY. And if that same Spirit lives within you, you too can be blameless and holy in the sight of God. Grace gives us the power to become like Him, not as an excuse to not be like Him. If Jesus could come down from glory, in the likeness of man and humble himself as a servant, being tempted like us in every way, what is your problem? It's you. We are our biggest enemies. It's our flesh. The devil isn't doing anything to us, because he doesn't see the need to, since we do it by ourselves.
Now... on to deliverance. Currently a once in a life time event in a church, and seen as a scary time because people don't recognize the simplicity of it. There's no formula. There's no speaking in a bunch of tongues. There is no laying bibles on heads, neither slinging oil everywhere. It is by His power, His Word, and faith. As Ambassadors of Christ, we have the upper hand on all things, even angels. We can command angels if we'd realize who we are in Christ. He is the head, we are the body, and if all things are under His feet, and we are His body, does that not mean all things are under our feet? So why are things that He demonstrated in simplicity so complicated? Ignorance.
When Jesus came across one who was demonically oppressed or possessed, the demon manifested while in His presence. And once the demon manifested then the Spirit led Jesus to command it out. He didn't invoke the presence of demons, and neither should we. Either you have power or you don't. Either you're Spirit led, or you're not. And the Church, looking outside in, and inside out are collectively not Spirit led, and has not an ounce of Power or Discernment. We should not be praising God to be healed or delivered. We should be praising God because He is, and if we'd praise Him with that intention, and acknowledge Him, He'd manifest Himself among us. As God manifests Himself, people will be healed, and delivered without anyone doing or saying anything, because we'll be worshipping Him in Spirit and Truth. And the Truth is this... we have power in Christ, our flesh just blocks it from ever manifesting.
This is the 'formula'. Kill your flesh, depend on the Spirit and watch Him move. Once the glory of our God manifests and demons began to manifest out of fear and being uncomfortable. Then, as you are led, pull up your pants, gird your loins, and simply command that devil OUT. It does NOT take renouncing a whole bunch of mess. It simply takes being Spirit led. The love and power of God sees past your past, it sees past what you used to do, and delivers you. Love covers a multitude of sins, so if you're walking in love, nobody would have to expose themselves to nobody except to God. and that can be done without them saying a word. Demons cannot sit comfortably among true Sons of God. So why are they running Churches? Why are they manifesting, but looked upon by people as it being the Holy Ghost? No discernment. When God moves in an assembly, some things we see are not Him, but demons manifesting masking themselves in fake tongues, jerking and convulsing, literally looking 'churchy' fooling the 'Saints' around them.
Jesus didn't hold demons long conversations. He moved in power, was led by the Spirit, people were healed, demons manifested, and He dealt with it in Spirit and not by flesh. Flesh strives, flesh wants to lay hands quickly and tackle people. But the Spirit is bold, quick and sharp. He cuts through air with just a couple of words or none at all, and uproots the kingdom of the devil in an instant, not in 3 hours, nor 6, but immediately.
I can show you better than I can tell you.
"And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”
- Mark 1:21-27
We see here that Jesus was teaching, but not just in any way, but with AUTHORITY. He was teaching as the Holy Ghost enabled Him to. As He was doing so, IMMEDIATELY the spirit within the man cried out telling Jesus exactly who He was. The spirit in the man knew exactly who Jesus was, and was terrified. When spirits see us, they should see Jesus in us. We do not and should not invoke the name of Jesus as if it was a spell, because we bare His name and His Spirit. The Church collectively are the sons of Sceva. What you say, you should move the same in the Spirit. If you command something to be done in the name of Jesus, you move with faith, not in fear, but know that it is done, and this should be done in all things. Demons should fear the God in us! Instead they laugh, because they see nothing but flesh and borderline witches and warlocks. We have blasphemed the name of our God in the presence of our enemies.
But, thanks be to our God for revelation and the shift. We as the Body of Christ have to realize we are the Body. All things are subject to us because we are joined together with Him. It's not by chance, neither by ourselves, but by His Spirit we move and have our being. By His Spirit, we can do all things in the name of Jesus Christ. Deliverance is about to become normal as it should be, those who want to be like Him, have been given the mind of Him. Pray for His discernment. Worship Him for who He is, not for what you want. Realize you've already got everything you need for this race, and its in Christ. Don't fear people of God, just believe.
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry.
- Luke 4:1-2
And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”12 And he strictly ordered them not to make him known.
- Mark 3:11
"Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.”For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.”So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea."
- Mark 5:5-13
But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
- Mark 5:36
And from there he arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house and did not want anyone to know, yet he could not be hidden.
- Mark 7:24
“Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.” And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.” And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.”
- Mark 9:17-29
"And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them."
- Matthew 4:23-25
As they were going away, behold, a demon-oppressed man who was mute was brought to him. And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”
- Matthew 9:32-34
"And he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the Sabbath, and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority. And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!” And reports about him went out into every place in the surrounding region."
- Luke 4:31-37
"Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ."
- Luke 4:40-41
"Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled."
- Acts 19:13-17
"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."
- Romans 8:14
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."
- Romans 8:5-13
"Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."
- 1 Corinthians 12:27
"For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete."
- 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
- 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
- Ephesians 2:4-6
"And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him."
- Colossians 2:13-15
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
- Philippians 2:5-11
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
- 2 Timothy 1:7
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."
- 1 Peter 2:9
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins."
- 1 Peter 4:8
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
- James 4:7-8
"But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh."
- Jude 1:20-23
